Our story · as seen on TV
Where it took us.
It all started with a question: why is ice bathing so complicated, with hauling ice and waiting for hours? The first answer came in California. During his exchange at UC Berkeley, Aurel wrote the business plan while staying with family friends in Los Angeles, on a couch that once belonged to Steve Jobs. With that plan, we went on TV and pitched to a panel of experienced investors. The idea went down very well, and the feedback showed us what was still missing.
That is exactly what we solved, with engineers and designers from California, Asia and Germany, and we filed an EU-wide patent for it. The result is the Tower. Its design eventually won over an investor who, as one of Steve Jobs' first employees, helped shape products you hold in your hands today. And so the story that began on a couch in Los Angeles came full circle.

What is the pool.down Tower?
The pool.down Tower is a mobile ice bath chiller for your bathtub: it draws the water in through a hose, filters and cools it and returns it. 10 °C in approx. 30 minutes, 8 °C in approx. 60, 3 °C in approx. 90. 75 × 35 × 35 cm, 35 kg (77 lbs), on wheels, runs from a normal socket, water hygiene with active oxygen.
Can I test the Tower and return it if it doesn't suit me?
Yes. You test the Tower at home for 14 days. If it doesn't suit you, we pick it up from you free of charge and you get your money back. Please keep the original packaging so the Tower can be transported safely.

Which coolers and options are there?

How do I use the Tower?
Unpack it, plug it into a normal socket, fill the bathtub with water, put the hose in and start cooling on the device or in the app. Depending on the target temperature this takes 30 to 90 minutes: 10 °C in approx. 30, 8 °C in approx. 60 and 3 °C in approx. 90 minutes.
How much electricity does the Tower use?
At peak the Tower draws 1.07 kW. Once the temperature is reached it needs much less, because it only holds it. At current electricity prices one cooling cycle costs you less than 49 cents.
How does the Tower work?
The Tower draws the water in through the hose, filters and cools it and returns it to the tub. It cools like a fridge, via a heat exchanger, with a natural refrigerant with a very low global warming potential, compliant with the EU F-gas regulation. Active oxygen cleans the water.
Is the Tower loud, and does it give off heat?
While cooling you hear the compressor and fan, as with other cooling devices. Once the temperature is reached, it only works to hold it. The heat it takes out of the water is released into the room. In a small bathroom it gets noticeably warmer, a pleasant side effect after the ice bath. In summer it's worth leaving the door or window open.
Can I use the Tower outdoors?
Yes. At 75 × 35 × 35 cm and 35 kg (77 lbs) on wheels, the Tower stays mobile, for example with the inflatable ice bath (170 × 80 cm) for events, balcony and garden. Outdoors, make sure you use a suitable outdoor socket.
